The Israelites found themselves trapped between Pharaoh’s army and the Red sea. In panic they accused Moses of leading them to their deaths. He told his frightened people,”Do not be afraid, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord”. God parted the water and delivered them.
What unyielding obstacles are you facing? Whatever they are, don’t panic. Instead, turn to God and trust in His power to do what seems impossible.”Then He said to His disciples,”Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat;nor the body, what you will put on.” (Luke 12:22 NKJV)
“Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” (John 14:27 NKJV).
We all at times have worried about our finances, our loved ones, our jobs our health and a host of other life issues. At times it may be hard to relate to Jesus’ words concerning worry. He has the perfect solution. He invites us to put our faith and trust in God’s provision and care.
I listened to a spiritual giant in the kingdom of God once as he spoke to a small group of pastors. He talked about how he trusted in God’s instructions to him to guard his ministry from a certain man who had declared that he would ruin it because he thought he was being deceived. These were the instructions he was to proclaim.
1.When this person sleeps he would not get any rest (Proverbs 4:14-16).
2.When he eats he will not be nourished (Leviticus 26:26).
3.What ever he puts his hands to it would not prosper (Deuteronomy 28:29).
The next encounter between these two was a time of restoration when one requested of the other to agree with him that he would be able to rest, be nourished and prosper.
Godly trust is the foundation of all healthy relationships. It’s the glue that holds us together through life’s most difficult circumstances. With this foundation nothing is impossible with God.
Romans2:4 says that there is no respect of persons with God. So, since that proclamation worked for this spiritual giant, I figured it would work for me also.
One of my daughters was engaged to marry a man I felt she should learn more about. She allowed him to put all of her household furniture in storage, move from Nebraska with two daughters to live with her mother for a month and then go to the east cost to get married. After three months she had not heard from her fiancé. She had to start from scratch from getting a job in a new state to refurnishing another place for her family to live.To say the least she was very disappointed and agitated.
Contacting this national company that he worked with for assistance resulted in hearing that the company policy did not allow getting involved with domestic issues.
It wasn’t long afterwards that I remembered the proclamation that was given to this man of faith I heard that day.I spoke that same declaration daily as I jogged around the park in my neighborhood. After the 21st day my daughter called me and said,”Daddy, I got my stuff back”.
Jesus said that He came so that we could have an abundant life. To have that abundant life one must be empowered to receive it then live it. That empowerment comes from the Holy Spirit and the word of God.His mode of operation has always been the same, His Spirit, His word and His people; the Spirit prepares, the word produces and His people preserves.
Always be mindful to create an atmosphere for the Holy Spirit so the power of the word of God can be spoken to preserve your godly covenant relationships.
Life is good when love is right.
